Quilts on exhibit

I went to a nearby exhibition yesterday. I was inspired by some beauuutiful quilts!!

Helga made this chicken applique quilt.

and she made this urn applique quilt:

I think they are both Maggie Walker patterns purchased as BOMs at around A$50 per month for 10 months!!! That's about A$500 for each quilt. It's the fabrics that make it though. Just beautiful.

Welcome To The North Pole by Piece'O'Cake

I have made my own version of this quilt. I just love the details in the little houses. I made mine in strips without the colourwash effect of the background. I might post a photo sometime.

There were a few shops in attendance... and it is so tempting...

All I bought was 4 fat quarters (A$2 each) of this Mahjong fabric. I will use it to edge a tablecloth for playing "Mahj" with my DH's deceased father's tiles. This will protect the old tiles from wearing on the table.

P.S. There's a new block up for the FREE Noah's Ark Stitchery BOM (see my list of FUFOs - Future UFOs aka Future Projects for the link).

I love Mah Jongg, have a Mah Jongg oracle deck, 2 bracelets made from old tiles...3 different copies on my computer...but alas, no one to play a real game with. I lust for some of this fabric :-) Sharyn/KalamaQuilts
