Graveyard shift

Oh! I had to create something from these glow in the dark graveyard fabrics... I've made a couple of little zippy bags, just because I could...

and I found a better wadding than pellon for bags. Similar loft, but a bit stiffer to hold the shape.
For my own reference, I bought it from Just Country Crafts, a local quilt supply shop.

It feels good to finish something, even if it's small, especially when I've been working on so many long term projects. And I am thinking that I need to finish Diamond Hill for the inlaws gift. Which will be 2 years late. Although they don't know about it, so I must trust in divine timing I guess!

A little play....

I really enjoy making little projects that are started and finished in a day.  These are little gift bags. I love the fabrics for Easter, Mother's Day, birthdays....

After they have been filled with tea, or soap, or chocolates or a gift voucher, the little padded bags are gorgeous for makeup, passport and tickets, money, kids toys.. . or whatever!

Three more here... woohooo....

And

a twinkly mug bag... made in glittery fairy frost fabric... this has been posted to a friend for an online handmade collaboration.

Can you guess what is going to happen to it? Can you see the background? Ooh... I am looking forward to showing you the completed trio of products.

Gagging to sew

I've been gagging to sew... I just wanted to feel like I'd finished something! So here we go! Three little zippy bags... I love these Australian fabrics - I've just come back from central Australia, and feeling so inspired! I LOVE AUSTRALIA! xo

Zipped up

This cute lil' zippy bag was a UFO. 8 of the 9 strips were joined together.

All I had to do was add the last strip, layer and quilt, sew on the label, insert a zip and stitch the sides....

Easy Peasy, and it's a finish! (yes, I am going to count it... hahahhaha)

Lil' Zippy Bags

Lool! Look! I just love fondling today's makings.
I made three Lil' Zipper Bags using the free tutorial on moda bakeshop website.

Each bag uses nine 9 1/2in x 1 1/2in strips and a 10in square of lining and pellon with an 8inch zipper.

I used a little piece of twill from the honeybun wrappings to add "labels" on the front. Adds a touch of professionalism if you ask me... LOL!!

Let me know if you try the pattern and like them too!!
