Frida! Freedom!

It's a whirlwind time here! I am sneaking a tiny bit of stitching in between family time....

Ooh I love Frida.

The front grass needs a bit of watering... we are enjoying the mountain view in the distance Can you see?

These moments, I don't know how long this little fellah will still fit into a bucket.

We really are going somewhere here. How exciting. Not sure what will come next!

 

Moths and cats

This one really shook my world. What is it about moths? They have big fluffy antennae that are sensitive to change and vibration and smell, and this faery is riding a moth, and together they are heading for the moon. So many symbols in one place!! I have a couple of these printed onto fabric. I might have to order more. This one really speaks.

Oh Frida! I remember being young and wondering who this woman was, that one could find on tshirts and whatnot, and now I don't wonder who she is, I wonder why I didn't know before! Ha! Especially since I went to Mexico and viewed her works, learned about her relationship with her husband, and understood why she painted so many self portraits. (She had to paint, like I have to quilt). She was unwell in bed a lot, so she painted herself.  And this time her cat also.

And as for cats, this one is like the yin and yang of cats. Warming up on a cold day with pumpkin spice.

I can't stop, gotta sew some more altar cloths to fund the purchase of a new property.

Four dynamic pieces

Oh Frida! What a beautiful fabric print! I KNEW I should've ordered more of that one! Why do they disappear? Especially in the global pandemic, so many business places closed down (people usually work closer together than 1.5 metres - there's a social distancing rule). 

There are also issues in supply of food, home furnishings, materials, clothings as production in some places closed down, slowed down, or the actual shipping is not going ahead.

It's like the world slowed down for a while.

This pink castle with rainbow is absolutely magickal. And you wouldn't believe it, I saw it appear somewhere else the same day (synchronicity!), and I'd never seen this image before. So of course, this one sold straight away, and wouldn't I love to get more of this fabric?

This one reminds me of other creation stories, as opposed to Adam and Eve. The caudaceus is one of the most ancient symbols (you might see it as a symbol of modern medicine, perhaps on doctor surgeries or ambulance vehicles - those two snakes twisted together?) You can read more about it here, including the Annunaki origins and the name Enki.

The rainbow wolf I made previously was so beautiful, this one came together easily under my fingers. Sparkly and bright, it captures the spirit animal of Elephant perfectly.
