3 kids quilts

I framed these stunning digital print panels with some batik borders, and now they are ready for edge to edge professional quilting by Mum at Deep Creek Quilting.

It has been quite a while since the children had new quilts, and now that I have a plan to make bushfire quilts, I wanted to get their new ones made first.

And so here are snippets of the three similar panel quilts.

I am looking forward to showing the finished pieces when they return and I can stitch the binding.

Digital print fabric

The new era of digital print fabrics are here, and they are everything they should be and more.




For a long time digital prints were very hit and miss.  If the shop ordered them without seeing a sample, they were often a very poor quality, and then they couldn't sell the bolt, let alone a range.

But things have changed and these are absolutely beautiful.

I bought a panel for my daughter's next quilt.  She is 8, and is using a quilt I made to suit her 3 year old interests of horses.

These days she still likes fantasy, and her favourite colour is aqua followed by purple, so I know this will be the right choice. 

 I can take my time collecting additional fabrics, but this is a great start!

Sneak peek, shoes, digital printed fabric

First show and tell today is a sneak peek at a simple quilt, featuring hydrangeas and other blooms...

I just love the colours, and have put a gorgeous green border.

 And I have another oracle card bag set that will soon be going to it's new home...

I love this Wizard of Oz concept, and I have some ideas for other applique images too. I can see this keeping me happily busy for quite some time.

And in other news, I ordered some digital printed fabric online. The bottom 2 prints were called glitter, but they are not. They are neither metallic or glittery. I am going to chuck them away. 

They actually look better in a photo than in real life. I wrote to the business that supplied them to tell them how disappointed I was in the fabric, and that if something arrives and is unexpectedly ugly they would be better to write to the customer and tell them the fabrics did not arrive, refund them their money, and at least they will reorder at a later date.

And so I have plans to paint all kinds of glittery goodness onto the egg and bunny prints, but please be warned against buying digital print fabrics online.
