This little unicorn brings airs of youthful optimism, a whimsical mind, dreams and visions. What does it mean to you?

For this piece I've freehand quilted stars in a multicoloured thread as the background, which to me just adds so much pop while being pretty.

I made another of these bat and raven altar cloths, but this time without the words (traits of the combined animals). Every time I stitch a piece of fabric it's different, and I feel intuitively that it changes depending on how it's going to it's ultimate owner.

I love this image of Red Riding Hood.

I call her Red. Far from being the little girl who had to hide in her cloak, or was frightened, this is the empowered version. I feel it in her swag, her boots, and the way she walks in the snowy woods standing tall. Picking out the shadows of trees was one of my favourite parts of stitching to add depth to this piece of printed art.

Still soaring

I meant what I said yesterday... this is about the fourth cushion I have made in this style, maybe even fifth!

There are a few more unicorn cushions (unicushions) to come, but I bought some fabric for a new theme yesterday as this one is starting to get to me.
It's just that I have so many collaborations to finish!
Does your brain wander to the next thing while you are working?

On The Wings Of Love

I've named this cushion "On the wings of love". Pegasus is King of the Unicorns, and flies through rainbow skies.

🦄Soaring through the clouds comes your shimmery and glowy unicorn sailing on the wings of love. ðŸ¦„

🌟Unicorn will help you to Fantasise. Dream big. Embrace your purity and innocence. See the good in all things. Feel the connectedness and wonder of everything. Charge forward. Pierce through obstacles.🌟
I just love the face details, gorgeous eyes and expression.

I love this particular unicorn style so much that I will have another one to show tomorrow!

This cushion is for a collaboration trio, with a candle and bath set, and a little crocheted unicorn.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. x

Rainbow Daze

So many pieces are being finished at the moment.

They've been on the go for a little while, and I am in a crazy finishing mode. I have no idea how many items I have finished this year, as I am still catching up on blogging posts, and need to add a list of finished items for 2018 to the sidebar.

I reckon by March I will have time to count how many pieces have been finished this year so far!

This rainbow unicorn cushion features machine applique again (I am looooving it!), and free motion machine embroidery. This one is also for a collaboration in March, and I hope to show photos of the other two items together with my contribution after the others have been made. Come on girls, pull your finger out!

Beary Nice and a little bit Corny

Hello everyone,

I totally enjoyed making this teddybear cushion using patterns from Lil Blokes in Bendigo,Victoria. I ordered the pattern and some fabrics and some pencils from Lynn, and she sent me instructions on how to make the faces.

I adored making them, and I love the way the faces came up looking 3 dimensional.

Looking at the cushion overall afterwards, I would say these "country" themed colours are not as popular as purple, pink and teal at the moment.

And this cushion probably seems quite dull in comparison to others I have been working on.

Saying that, I just mean that it doesn't appeal to everyone, but then what does? Although it hasn't found a home yet, I am sure that it will in the near future.

I also bought a golly pattern from Lil Blokes as my sister is expecting her second bub in March, and I have some stitching to do! Looking forward to showing and telling when I get that started (but first to finish the Toy Story quilt for my other nephew!)

Oh! And here is an update on a custom uni-quilt. Chosen in fairy frost glitter pink background, this is what I have done so far.

Next, free motion embroidery details on the unicorn, and then it's off for quilting.

Candy Cane the witchy unicorn

Meet "Candy Cane". I love her carousel horse body made with Kaffe fabric.

She is stirring up a witchy brew for Halloween. That's her wand.

Halloween doesn't have to be scary. I love the way the mystic trees in the border came out.

This little beauty ended up on a lucky lady's bed, and she looks amazing there.

Blaze

Hello everyone. I have had an absolute blast making this mini art quilt in a frenzy. Inspiration was so strong, that it just had to come out.

I had no idea who it was for...

Not sure whether the unicorn is afraid or just startled or mesmerised by the sacred geometry merkaba.

First I quilted the piece, then I applique/quilted the unicorn down, and added free motion quilting details.

Once finished, I love it to pieces, although I have no space or use for it myself, and it was made with such urgency that I feel sure it is going to a loved home.

N.B. Yes, it did go to a special home. I love it when that happens
