In the same way.

Here is Catherine's baby quilt top. All I had to do was add sashing. It's so effective, nothing else is needed.
I've even stitched the label onto the quilt backing ready to go...

Mind you, I have left plenty of space to write the details of the little baby's name, birthday and weight.
I would like Mum to quilt balloons or clouds all over it.
I felt a bit like I copped out making such a simple quilt - although it is Catherine's taste. Then I read this quote on my calendar which made me feel a lot better: "The manner of giving is worth more than the gift" - Pierre Corneille.
I will give it with love and I am sure it will received in the same way.

Let's Play

My cousin Catherine is expecting her first baby. This is the start of her baby quilt.

Catherine works in childcare, so I selected scenes from the vintage-looking panel "Let's Play". They are bordered, and that's all so far.

I will add sashing with vintage alphabet fabric (black on cream). That's all.

I will ask Mum to quilt it with balloons or clouds allover, then add binding. Sometimes a quick quilt is best - because they can be finished in time!!

Then, it's back to scalloping... and miniatures (I have chosen the next 9 miniatures for next year)...
