Spring rabbits at the letterbox

Congratulations to my dear friend Andrea - who won second prize in the Kilmore Kwilters blue and white quilt challenge (despite the fact she is living in Germany).

I have stitched the 3rd raffle block. That will do, there is no point making 5 blocks to enter the draw when you only win 5. You might as well as keep them!! LOL!!

As promised, here is a photo of the Spring rabbits in their current home. A quilt this size could easily be changed with the seasons. I might make one for Christmas next (see how we go of course!).

Last night I couldn't find the other 2 Mammy pictures I know I photocopied to make them the same size as the others.... so I traced off the Noah's Ark stitchery blocks. They are sooo tiny!

Binding on the bus

Today we are off on our group's bus trip. We are visiting 4 shops. Be assured you will receive more details tomorrow. VBG.

I've got 2 quilts ready for binding on the bus:

Spring rabbits

and the Dick and Jane baby quilt.

I hope I will be posting 2 more finished items tomorrow!!

Feeling quilty

I am feeling happier today, and much more quilty. I'm sure it's the therapy of stitching. VBG.

Last night I nearly finished the blanket-stitch applique at the top of the Spring rabbits.

I ran out of DMC 420. So exasperating! I tried some others, but they just looked too different. I wanted to quilt it!!

So, I quilted the Dick and Jane baby quilt instead.

I quilted kites with strings onto it using King Tut variegated thread. It changes colour (not just shade) every inch.

Let's have a great Friday. :)

Springing around

I have been working on my Spring rabbits quilt! Yay!

I am excited to be stitching after only 1 day out of the last 5 with any stitching!!

I finished piecing the 5 blocks.

I have pieced the base.

Now I am up to the applique.

I really am enjoying Spring, especially now a lot of Spring cleaning has been done. Of course there's still more to do. I must also Spring clean my stash by making some quilts!

Last night I had a dream that my penfriend in England (these were the days before email) sent me a photo of all the Christmas stitcheries and gifts I had made her over the last 16 years. They were put into a display with items she had made herself. Now, I don't know if I have ever made her a stitched Christmas gift. Hmmm... I think I will start with some of the oven mitts. And build up her collection over the next 16 years!!!

Its non-fattening

At a time when I am tempted to turn to chocolate and wine, I resolutely (well, I only had a leeetle bit of chocolate) turn to comfort in a new quilt pattern.

I have been eyeing off this Lori Smith rabbits and baskets pattern for a while. It makes a quilt 16" x 20" in size.

Last night I selected the fabrics, patted them a lot, then put started putting together the 5 blocks shown here.

There will be no sewing tonight and I won't need it- my sister is visiting from interstate. I am glad to spend time with her.
