Two goddess totes

I love both these fabric prints so much. They are so goddess!

I would love to turn them into altar cloths as well, but I feel I need to pull the reins on this style. I do hope that they will be popular sellers once again at some stage.

Another gorgeous goddess tote.

Both of these have gone to their forever homes.

Frida

Oh Frida Kahlo! Mexican Art icon!

An artist who was physically expressive of her artistic and wild hearted tendencies. Married to a Mexican artist, she and her husband were both famous for their in their own rights.

Reknowned as both having extra marital affairs.. except her husband was pretty annoyed when she did the same thing to him...and he changed some of his public art, to put her head on the figure of a prostitute. Men! Double standards!

Anyway, I particularly like her self portraits, and here is one I have turned into a shopping tote.

Three more totes

I am adoring the intense colours on these prints.

 Mermaid bag.

Stars in the Galaxy bag.

Deathly Hallows bag - the final part of Harry Potter where it all comes together.
Photos just don't capture the intense colours in these totes.

Are you ready for the plastic bag ban?

Harry Potter shopping tote

Only a few short weeks until the single use plastic bags will no longer be given out, and we will have to buy a bag, or carry something cute in our handbags for that unexpected lunchtime window shopping.

This is Harry Potter and the... ????
Which book is it from? Can you see the cat plates that were on the wall? The extendable ears? The mimbleus mimbletonia? the puking pastilles?

I am having such fun creating these shopping totes!

Getting closer

Are you ready for the plastic bag ban?

I'm not sure that it means I have to buy 40 green bags and fill the boot with them, then forget to take them into the supermarket....

But I will buy 2 clothes baskets to keep in the car. After the shopping goes through the checkout, it will go back into the trolley then unload from trolley to the baskets in the car. Then just carry baskets inside. Much longer lasting than the bags Coles will be selling.

And then there are the cute totes I have been maknig, mostly for clothes shopping and post office runs, that sort of thing.

Banning bags

The plastic bag ban is getting closer. Today I enjoyed making some netting bags for fresh produce.

I used a pretty satin drawstring through the top.

And then I had a brainwave that these bags could also be used to organise things so that you can see their contents. It's quite annoying when I find bits of these jigsaws everywhere, except where they shold be! Ha! Especially a knobbly jigsaw piece underfoot.

And here is another shopping tote, because I am crazy about these.

Rainbow butterfly and rainbow mandala

Woohoo! I started this Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt in February 2012, and finally it's finished!

Thank you Mum for quilting it on the longarm with rainbow multicolour caterpillars.

I gave this quilt away, because Mum had already given my 2 1/2 year old a quilt with this guy on, (caterpittar quilt Mummy).

This quilt has gone to Archie who turned 3 on the day it arrived in the mail.
It's cold in Melbourne, so he will enjoy it.

And sometimes you start and finish something in one day.....
This gorgeous tote is perfect for rolling up and storing in the handbag. Especially now that Spotlight has stopped giving out plastic bags, and the supermarkets are lining up to do that too.

There are going to be lots of totes on here.

More bags! What a surprise!

Hee hee, i love this meditating kind of zen cat in the stars...

Another fun shoping tote.

This is one of my current fav fabrics. A metallic peacock fabric that looks kind of like feathers, kidn of like scales.

I made 2 the same for little gifts.

Pinky the mermaid joins the collection of shopping totes.

Tea and Shopping

In only 2 months, the supermarkets will stop giving out single use bags.

What about the little clothes and gift shops? What if you pop into Target on your lunchbreak, buy some lingerie, and you need a bag to carry away your smalls?
Ta-Daaaaa! This bag rolls up in your handbag. I have lots of these to make, and each one is different.

And it's almost May. Biggest Morning Tea month. I made this appliqued tea cloth for my mother in law. She holds the biggest morning tea every year. I thought it would be a gorgeous centrepiece. This is her mother's day present.

The ladies are adapted from an oven mitt pattern by Bronwyn Hayes.
