Renae's bags

Every now and then I get to make something special.

The client requested some ugly witch fabric, and I found this.

Created two bags for tarot or oracle cards.

One with a pentacle charm.

One with the Ouroborus infinity snake charm.

And I have swapped them for some wreaths that Renae has made for me. Sooo excited!

The journey that is 2019

Happy New Year to all!!

I've enjoyed a wonderful Christmas break, but also enjoyed some stitching as you can see... And look at this big pile of mail I have to post!

I've been making so many items to share, that my little business is keeping me busy!

I love these little bags for ipads, headphones, kindles or phones and charger cords.

They keep everything together, and making them satisfies my need to quilt something. Hahahahahaha.

I've also made a few of these little Ruby Slipper bags. I designed these drawstring bags to be used for tarot or oracle cards, but they are also used for storing amulets, wands, moon cups, crystals, or other items precious to you.

I've always felt empowered by the feel that I have encapsulated in this bag.

"The Power was with you all along, you just had to discover it for yourself"... It is in the journey that we fear, we become brave, we face the fears, we conquer them and we are transformed into a triumphant new Self!

I love this scene, because you can see the road, and the rainbow at the end...

I painted the shoes with 5 coats of sparkly glitter to make them really sparkle. I really do love this. And so does everyone else! I made 4 of them!!

Welcome to the journey of 2019. May all be as it should be for us all.

I love it when ...

I love it when this happens! The lady who bought my Healing Wishes deck and bag set loved it so much she ordered a matching altar cloth!!

The dandelion wishing fabric is so amazing.

I hope she loves it as much as I do.....

A gorgeous backdrop for photographing card readings too. I love making these cloths.

Working The Light

Once again I have made one to keep and one to share... with their own individual rose appliques....

.... a gorgeous bird fabric as the main body

 ... and my own tags....

 ....

created to go with a particular deck called "Work Your Light"

And here they are together

I am sooo loving this deck... already one of my favourites...
 Can't help myself... more photos

What are you Raven about?

Ravens have been an important symbol for me since I realised they were always flying around, and bringing me messages.

It wasn't until one very windy Victorian day there were about 40 ravens in the top of a tree at my front fence. The wind was blowing up in the tree tops. It must've been hard for them to hang on, but they clung to those branches until I noticed them.

It took sheer density of numbers for it to hit me.

Since then, ravens have had a personal meaning for me. So when I saw this fabric for sale last Halloween, I grabbed a metre of it. And hoarded it for a while.

The first bag goes with this Messages from the Guides deck as a set (sold), as Ravens have been a guide of mine, I thought it was quite fitting.

The second bag is mine. And now stores these Witches' Divination crystals that I won. It also has a bird skull charm stitched on. I love it!

My deck collection is slowly starting to get their own bags, which makes me very happy to have started to make two of each. One to keep, and one to sell.

P.S. I am pretty excited about my labels "Sew Rainey Sew".

Healing Wishes bag and cards set

My latest oracle card bag creation... and I have decided to make one to keep, and one to sell.

Appliqued with the goddess symbol, embellished with free motion embroidery.

The appliqued heart is embellished with an angel dreamcatcher.

And the fabric is made from dandelions... the first wishes we made as children (apart from birthday wishes) were all on dandelions.
So here they are, one to keep, and one to sell.

Thanks for dropping by. x

Triple Triple

I have totally enjoyed making this triple set comprising oracle cards, bag for the deck and an altar cloth.

The swirling universe fabric is actually a deep purple.

Triple Goddess is appliqued in fairy frost, and embellished with freehand machine embroidery.

And the bag... ohhh, triple goddess charm with a satin double drawstring.

I think I have enough of this fabric to make myself a set too. Fingers crossed.

Hestia

Hestia, the goddess that holds the Sacred Flame holds the flame of the hearth.

When the hearth was the heart of the home - fire for cooking, heating water, washing, extracting animal fat, warmth and more....

The fire should never go out.

Hestia is the keeper of the flame. I love her. She is a stunning piece of work.

Inspired by the artwork on the card, I have put her up for sale. I love creating images like these.

Just gorrrgeous

I had this tiny bit of seaweedy fabric leftover, and thought it would make a beautiful oracle card bag.

I altered the Triple Goddess woman into a mermaid and added some fishy freehand machine embroidery.

Topped with the triple goddess charm, and she is a gorrgeous set.

And now I have decided I love the deck so much I will need to buy one when I see it. This one is sold. Feeling a bit sad... Will have to start making 2 of everything so that I can keep one.

Mermaids and oracles

I am loving creating special bags to accompany different oracle card decks.

This bag features the goddess in mermaid form, with a beautiful spirally detail on her body, seaweed fabric, and a triple goddess charm.
I love it....

Oh! Marilyn!

I bought some stunning Marilyn Monroe digital print fabrics. Oh yeah babyyy. And this is the first thing I have made with it.

Be your own kind of beautiful drawstring bag.

Love Bravely Free Soul bag with feather charm.

I cut these fabrics out... check them out.. ooh, so boho...

And here is a possible layout... so excited!!

oracle card set and calling all rainbows

Well, what an appropriate card set this is "Miracles Now"....
given that the rains are back with a vengeance.

There is no sewing machine stuff going on today as the pedal would be in water.

That's the kids cubby and swing, and the house is just on the right. Water is moving swiftly, so it still has somewhere else to go, but more is coming. And it hasn't stopped raining yet.

And yet we look for the rainbow (in this case on the clouds fabric and also on the drawstring).

So, please send rainbows. Much love from the tropics.

Sneak peek, shoes, digital printed fabric

First show and tell today is a sneak peek at a simple quilt, featuring hydrangeas and other blooms...

I just love the colours, and have put a gorgeous green border.

And I have another oracle card bag set that will soon be going to it's new home...

I love this Wizard of Oz concept, and I have some ideas for other applique images too. I can see this keeping me happily busy for quite some time.

Can you see the rainbow on the fabric?

And in other news, I ordered some digital printed fabric online. The bottom 2 prints were called glitter, but they are not. They are neither metallic or glittery. I am going to chuck them away.

They actually look better in a photo than in real life. I wrote to the business that supplied them to tell them how disappointed I was in the fabric, and that if something arrives and is unexpectedly ugly they would be better to write to the customer and tell them the fabrics did not arrive, refund them their money, and at least they will reorder at a later date.

And so I have plans to paint all kinds of glittery goodness onto the egg and bunny prints, but please be warned against buying digital print fabrics online.

3 Sets

I love this set. It now has an insert for essential oil bottles, and one for healing crystals. Perfect for travelling.  Cheryl loves the colours, and I am so glad there was just enough for all the pieces she wanted.

I also made another oracle card bag with the wolf, and a feather detail.
It goes with this set of cards, which are absolutely delightful, from the images seen online. I have done a couple of past life regressions with Brian L Weiss cd, and so as he has teemed with Doreen Virtue, these cards are bound to be exceptional.

And another set with a dreamcatcher detail.
These fabrics are very Canadian, which I find eerily beautiful.

Connected with spirit guide card deck.
