Kiwi quilt update

I am (im)patiently awaiting the arrival of my next batch of batting in the mail... the centre of the Kiwi quilt is made, but I still need to add the borders.

I really hope it arrives tomorrow (Friday) or I can dash away hopes of finishing 8 quilts before posting out to Oz Comfort Quilts for the bushfire quilt drive.

Fingers crossed!!

Well done. What size sashings are you using to join these blocks...

Hi Jo, I cut the front sashings 2 inches wide, then folded in half.

The back sashing is cut one inch wide and left unfolded.

Stitched with quarter inch seams via the back sashing.

Then the front sashing is folded over and machine stitched down. When making heirloom quilts I put the narrow sashing on the front and hand stitch the folds at the back.

I will put up some photos in next post x
