I wanted to make one full star to see whether the co-ordinated scrappy look is working. The white tabletop mimics a cream background. Let's see how it looks once I have the star pieces joined.
I hope it's not toooo scrappy looking.
I only wanted to use up some stash!

Love it :-) Waiting to see the finished star

It's fabulous...of course, I LOVE scrappy, and this is what I called "controlled chaos," some things consistent, some things scrappy. It is very pleasing and adds interest!
My husband grandmother cut out some dimonds years ago... I now am the keeper. Do you know of good instructions to put them together?
Oh this looks great by the way... it inspires me to do something with grandma Martin's dimonds.
There is no such thing as too scrappy. I just read that Judy Martin uses at least 100 different fabrics in each of her quilts. It looks great!
Teresa, is there any such thing as "too scrappy looking"? I just love it. Scrappy quilts were what first drew me to quilting. They remind me of days gone by, simpler times where the pace was not quite so hectic and people took a breather more often than they do now.
Cream for a background will look lovely, lots of great space for quilting. I love the fact that you are stash bashing, I am trying to use what I have, then I don't feel so guilty about buying a bit more, VBG.
Your points look great, I foolishly attempted this pattern early in my quilting experience. Let's just say it was a disaster. Giggle.

Lorraine, I am so sorry, I mixed up your name with someone else's. My apologies. Time for another cup of coffee.
Hugs,
Bobbie
