Signs and the goddess

Ooh! This one is high energy! Some parts need to be stitched with a walking foot... most of my stitching these days is free motion.

This one is Aquarius - which is me, the water carrier, even though it's an air sign! I just figured out that me, the beloved and my son represent the 3 air signs. I think we are the most compatible signs for each other. Very interesting. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean it's all smooth sailing!

Oh my goddess, this one is extraordinary. Look at the light! I think it's one of the star signs, what is that on the bracelet? Is she Virgo?

And this Aztec goddess which is a juxtapose of masculine/feminine.

These last two were very intensive, but rewarding pieces. What beautiful backdrops for card readings or a dedicated sacred space in the home.

New World emergence

When I was looking at the Witch fabric prints for the Hallowitches series, I wasn't sure about this one. I only bought one, and it sold straight away. Who would've known? I am not really horror girl, but I am told it's something to do with Freddie and Jason???

I, myself prefer this butterfly grid. I can pop flowers or crystals on it, in a pattern to amplify my intention. Butterflies are symbols of transformation and new beginnings. I've always been attracted to butterflies, they were indeed a totem for me as a teen.

New World in the Morning

I think you see my theme here: New World emerging... definitely reflecting whats going on for me in my personal life.

And kookaburra, surrounded by indigenous fabric. Again, this one sold immediately. Who knew that spirit animal altar cloths would be so popular?

Possum and the Witch series

I am so in love with this little possum textile art piece. I bordered it with an official indigenous fabric, so for me it adds extra levels to the spirit animal idea.

This one is part of the Halloween Witches theme: I call it "I ate his hearat out with a spoon". haha. She is a zombie, but I feel we can all connect with the idea of being heartbroken at some time, and regaining our power by ripping the offender's heart out/detaching from the hurtful person.

And this one is the Pumpkin Witch. I bought 5 of this fabric print, because I think it will be one of the most popular in the series.

I am stitching as many as I can now, because I will have to move any time now. As soon as I find a place to live.

Our own spirit animals

I found some gorgeous digital prints of Australian animals, and some packs of real Australian indigenous art fabrics.

I've added a border in the indigenous fabric, and now quilting details.

The fabric is so soft. I must look up the features of koala as a spirit animal. I decided to free hand stitch gum leaves into the border, ah, leaves are one of my favourite things to quilt.

More spirit animals: these wolves are so sparkly. Stitching and painting the fabric prints really transform these into something special.

Here is one of our own spirit animals. Ming Ming can smell mince and is waiting for her bit from Daddy.

So is "Baby Cat" who is no longer a baby, but that was his name!

We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. What are your spirit animals?

New Witch Series

My sewing time is going to be limited while we are packing as well as moving the non-household and yard items.

I am preparing a Halloween Witch series. This is the first one. Oh, she is sassy, and why shouldn't she be?

I am going to have fun stitching and painting these babies.

I only bought a couple of each fabric print, I hope I will be able to buy more, but not until after we move - I don't know what my address will be.

The Way Home

It's a big relief that the deposit for the new bush block has been paid today. Vendor finance suits us both, and we are very grateful.

We went for a drive to connect with our land more deeply, and what should we see but a swag of pelicans in the tidal floodzone. The road is raised above it, and maybe gets covered a couple of times a year in the wet season. We will make sure we have a 4WD with a snorkel and extra supplies in the house. I love a well stocked freezer and pantry in any case.

It's currently dry season, but I can see this water hole fills up. Kangaroos have been coming here to drink.

I love this tree.

We all love this place.

Now it's time to start moving sheds, building materials, project cars and big pieces that won't fit at a rental house onto the block (it's 29 acres so we have plenty of space to fit what we want).

The rental house will come. It will come.

Personal power

I am the healthiest and well I've been in a long time. The vitamins I started really are helping with my Ross River Virus. I am dropping weight, and the inflammation has gone down in my feet so that I can walk and drive.

It's still crickets here at the shopping centre with most food courts and eateries closed. The play centre at Castletown shopping centre is closed. There's less social interaction for my son, but luckily his kinder is different and it has been open the whole time. Kindergarden on the RAAF base means that only authorised people can get in. With limited numbers of people coming through, it's never been closed. I am grateful.

This could be me, it could be Pocahontas, it could be anyone. But really it's an important affirmation for anyone. I choose my own path. And I think it sums me up as an Aquarius. No doubts.

Mother of Dragons. Fiery. Powerful. Nurturing.

The Game of Thrones tv series changed the lives of anyone who watched it. What a great character this Kalisi lady is. Really connecting to the mother that will do anything, this could hang on the wall, or be used to create a sacred space for the Mother.
