Introducing... the ice cream maker

Oh my, another win is the Cuisinart ice cream maker. It's the only way to make sure it's healthy. I can use biodynamic milk and cream or sugar substitutes, and no gelatin means it's vegetarian friendly for me too.

I love to create. No sewing today, used all my creative energy making ice cream. Would you believe it's all eaten already?

Lemon meringue

The first KitchenAid make - real lemon meringue pies with sugar syrup meringue.

Such a treat, that I think I will make them every year for my birthday. My absolute favourite, and I deserve it.

I'm so grateful.

Quilts on the walls

I was snapping a photo of how long my hair is getting (since menopause it breaks off), and snapped this photo of a boho quilt with Marilyn Monroe in the corners.

I still get tickled pink seeing quilts hanging on the walls in my home. I lived in a 100 year old partially renovated house for 16 years, then in a caravan for a couple of years, then in a small cabin for 6 years... so walls are still a novelty!!

Spirit Animal week

What a week of stitching I've had! The theme for the online market this week was magick....

The Raven  is stitched with green thread and painted with green sparkly fabric paint.

The owl looks like he is staring right through me. Spirit animals are very popular, as everyone identifies with the traits of one or more animals.

This particular one with a cat looking on sold straight away which really surprised me. Cats are so popular.

The Witch with her familiar is so twinkly in real life. I truly love this one. If only the fabric suppliers would open up again!

This one with cats and bats... I've stitched the words "Magickal Me" i nthe witch and given her a skirt.

And this last one is a nature witch, once again with her familiar or pet cat.

Kitchen and Stitchen

I wonder if there is a ceiling on creative output in a day. I usually find that I can blog, or stitch or do some creative cooking (that is, looking up a recipe, trying something new or difficult).. but I don't tend to do all 3 on one day.

It's as though my creative passion is satisfied within for a time, and I feel like a rest afterwards.

Does anyone else relate to that?

I won this KitchenAid mixer. What an amazing belated birthday present. I am so blessed. This will be used and used and used.

I originally chose a lavender colour, but this lemon is stunning. I think of kitchens like a quilt pallette. I want mine to be black, white, blue, and lemon.  But I didn't want a "boring" white mixer when it's a statement piece in the kitchen.

Look: it came with free engraving. It says

Rainey
Kitchen Witch

I create in the kitchen and stitchen (sewing room) sending love and healing into my creations to the recipients.

I can feel the KitchenAid both taking away stitching time, and also freeing me up to have more time.
Ooh, this is so exciting. Meringue, here I come!

(Did I mention I only had a hand held mixer from kmart before that is marked with 7 speeds, but really had 1?) This is very significant!

Lily of the Valley quilt

It's great to be back to sewing group at my LQS. Today I finished a table runner (gosh, that green is stunning) with leftover French Braid strips.

Most of the French Braid strips were used in this quilt. I bought a jelly roll and about 4 metres of other fabric, and now I have so much fabric left I can make more table runners or quilts.

I loved playing with this fabric, but it needs to go away for a while. I have some cat quilt fabric that is meowing at me.

Right, I need to send this to Mum to be quilted. So every excited to have my first personal piece on it's way to completion for the year!!

The tree of life altar cloth

And here is the finished Tree of Life piece. I shared the inside stitching in this post

It really can't be appreciated properly unless it's in person.

It's being used to cast runes upon. It divides into 4 distinct quarters easily, which makes it easier for the caster to read.

This was the last of this fabric, I can't get any more at the moment. I wonder if that will ever change when the shipping between countries comes back.

Altar cloths/table centres are listen in my Etsy store for sale.

Digger quilt from Grandma.

The last time my Mum visited was 2018. My little boy was 3 years old, and he was into trucks and diggers.

What happens when you take too long to make something with the fabric you bought?

The boy grows out of it before he gets it.

Thanks Mum, it's just arrived for the now 5yo.

It's being used and loved mostly to make forts and cubbies with. What a way to feel loved. Thanks Grandma.

Hidden stitches

I really wanted to show you the amount of stitching going into some of my altar cloths.

This one is the Tree of Life. The front is entirely black and white, the stitching is in 7 chakra colours. It's a polyester front, so it requires a brand new embroidery needle or it creates ladders in the stitching.

I am learning in so many areas at the moment. There's my 12 Days of Christmas Birds on the wall behind me. It took 12 years to finish, why not hang it a little longer.

Hahaha! I just realised that's the 12 years of Christmas. Bahahahahahaha. I find myself funny.

Practising new things, not stitching so much. Let's turn that around!! Now that school is on, it's time for me to create more time for myself.

Summer solstice and Ganesha

Ganesha: remover of obstacles.

I fell in love with this fabric print immediately. I enjoyed every moment stitching, and then I thought "I will just list it at The Spiritual Co-Op Group (facebook) online market, to see if anyone likes it. Bam! Immediately sold. I wonder if I will be able to get more fabric like this.

I do have an incredible amount of fabric, I've constantly re invested in stash, but it's been a strange time. Sometimes deliveries are open from overseas, and sometimes we've been cut off. There's been a lot of cutting off.

I am really glad that the Italian organic tomatoes and tomato paste are back in the shops. It's too hot and wet to grow here at the moment, so I choose the best flavours I can. My end goal is to buy as much organic as I can.

I've dressed up this altar cloth to photograph it.

I love stitching in the tree shadows in the background, then painting glowing gold and green sparkles on the top.

Each altar cloth is backed in 100% quilting cotton. In a variety of prints, mostly sympathetic with the design on the front, sometimes contrast in colour, but same theme.

You can find my altar cloths in my Etsy shop. SewIntuitivebyRainey

My birthday

It was my birthday recently... thank you, I celebrated and enjoyed the day.

My best one for quite some time.
