The Raven Quilt

Last photos of this stunner while it's hanging in a place where I can get a good photo.

"The Raven" Quilt was designed by Blackbird Designs.

I chose my own fabrics, comprising mostly William Morris and reproduction fabrics, along with some grunge, and a Japanese spotted linen (purchased as a mega bargain years ago especially for applique backgrounds).

I love the purple in here too.

I hope you can see a few details in these photos.

Mum (Deep Creek Quilting) did a spectacular job custom quilting this piece.

And with it, I won the Best of Townsville Show.

It was a huge process, and a very special quilt, that will be displayed annually with love.

Sneak peek at something Spookylicious

I'm so excited to share this sneak peek at a new project... I will be keeping this one under wraps, as I plan on releasing the pattern.

Yes, it's Halloween inspired, or perhaps spookylicious is the word, because it's not just black, orange, purple and green. I really like to expand and push the colour boundaries.

Okay, you probably won't see more of this for a while now. So enjoy this little teaser!

 

Disney Villians

It feels so good to have this table runner out on the table. I absolutely love the wickedness of the  Disney characters. 

I made this about 5 years ago, and finally it looks great where it is. I had no idea when I made it that I'd be so attracted to pink in the home.

I said it before, and I will say it again. Pink is the colour of love and the heart, so why not have it in the house.

Do you understand the meaning of the apples? I just love the colour with the red lips of these Disney villians.

Oh I wish I had more of that fabric!

 

Halloween decorating has started

Oh the joy of co-ordinating my Halloween makes with gorgeous decor!

The pumpkin runner is complete.

I just want to look at this from all the angles!

The pumpkin mat/trivet is complete.

These candles smell delicious. Martha Stewart white pumpkin is my favourite scent.

Woohoo, ready to quilt this table runner. Some simple lines should do it...

Going around the applique, and leaving my feet out of the photo. Oops. I didn't edit the photo properly on my phone.

Here we are... stitched and ready to hand sew the binding.

Looking at the quilt on the wall and my table runner.. I am looking at what else I could make with my leftover pretty fabrics.

Maybe a pumpking placemat/trivet? Let's try it out.

 

Happy birthday kiddo

Today it's the other kind of craft day... yes, the baking day... 

This special cake is an old family recipe. Ginger fluff sponge.

The kiddo has turned 7, and this is his morning tea party. How I love to decorate the home. It gives me a lot of pleasure.

How this kid loves spooky stuff (he's watched all the Scooby Doo movies on Stan).
