These ones are for me

Ok, Ok, these ones are for me. No doubt about it. If you can see yellow/gold fabric, I have painted it so it twinkles and sparkles!

Oh the POWER in these! I am calling on goddess to help us find a place to live!

This one with the lion has so much work in it. I have fabric for one more, and I won't even order the fabric again, there is so much involved. It took a very long time to stitch, with many colour changes.

I never can tellw hich ones are going to pop in real life, or how they will stir emotions within.

All I can tell you is, I will order more Isis fabric, but I am keeping both of these for me.

You can see my available pieces on my facebook page: Sew Rainey Sew

The call of the Magpie

When I listed this at the facebook group: The Spiritual Co-Op Group online market, I dind't know it would sell within the first 7 minutes of listing!

It's one of those one of a kind pieces, I ordered one fabric and it just came to life after I stitched it.

It was bought by a dear soul who will use it to cast runes upon. She connects with magpie spirit animal.

I can even hear magpies singing in my head now as I type this.

Spirit animals are a very powerful concept.

I wish I could order more of this fabric. It's just gorgeous as textile art too.

You can find me on my facebook page at Sew Rainey Sew.

Spirit Animals

Wrapping up the month, not sure when we move... this Leo constellation just twinkles. The lion is so powerful, I need this around me at this time I guess, because the altar cloth below also has a jungle animal!!

This artwork is so beautiful. I love stitching it, then highlighting all the gold especially with fabric paint.

This one sold to become textile art for the wall as well. I do find that interesting.

I am packing up all my personal sewing ready to move. We have started to dismantle the house frames, sort out what we want to keep, what to leave, what to throw away. Moving is such a big job, especially when you thought you would never leave.

Quan Yin

I love Quan Yin  - the goddess of compassion so much, that I've stitched onto another one of her images. They vary with what she is holding, and how many arms she has.

Quan Yin is the goddess of love and compassion, and that includes to oneself.

I haven't sewn a stitch on any of my own projects all year.

I started with charity quilts, then I stopped suddenly when we were asked to make scrubs for hospital workers. So I switched back to sewing to supplement my income, and it's exploded!!!

I need to move soon. I will stitch as much as I can, while I can. Moving is a big time!

Running Like Water

I've finished another four new designs that have my heart aglow. Luckily I am buying my batting and threads in bulk now.

I am using a beautiful wool/cotton blend of batting by Matilda's Own and Signature threads. My Janome machine loves the Signature, I buy it in 3000yd reels. I now have about 15 colours, and will have space for more as soon as we have a house to live in.

The contrast between water and land, fire and air, night and day, sun and moon. Everything about this one is amazing. I have another 2 of these fabrics. I hope to order more of this one. It's incredible.

This flamingo goddess in a waterfall is all about beauty. I love her. She was bought my someone that loves flamingoes, it's a textile wall art piece - not an altar cloth for her.

I call this beach one "My Happy Place". If you can't get to the beach in 2020 with all that's going on, at least you can go there in your mind.

Oh my goodness, this cup runneth over, what a stunning artwork this was in the first place, and gave me a lot of pleasure to stitch and paint.

I wish I could get more of this cup one. We could all do with a cup of overflowing rainbows.

Mermaids

I'm no longer spending 20 - 30 hours a week applying for and looking at rental properties. I KNOW that I will find a house to rent by word of mouth. So I am making sure everyone I know is aware that I am looking for somewhere. I might need a reference though, I will speak to the (now retired) couple that managed the caravan park I lived in 2013-2014.

This will give me more time to stitch pieces for the online market. This week's theme is the ocean, or water. So I've pulled out a few mermaid ones. This green one has me like. oh wow! The gold details are AMAZING!

And this one with a sea goddess and a mermaid.. ahhh, so many layers of depth and meaning in this one, it's exciting to find them all.

The Dark Side

A little on the dark side today, these two pieces are about strength.

This one is titled "A Cat Called Lucifer", which really makes me giggle. Cats really can be devils can't they?

And this one... well, this is the slender version of the Sew Witch Ursula... Do you remember Ariel, The Little Mermaid was combing her hair with a fork?

This is definitely a sea witch who won.

There is something about this piece, that makes me want to laugh deep like Ursula. Sometimes the baddies do win, not because they should, but because the "good" person won't do what is necessary to win.
