Book Week

It's honestly been such a busy time. But we got this kid dressed and ready for Book Week as DJ Skrillex from the Trolls World movie and books.

I really love being a Mum! I love being there for my son, I love being a hands on parent.

Happy Book Week!

Car bags

I went looking for some other useful bags to make. Well, not just bags, but items, and I came across this car bag.

Ok, I made four. What's a girl to do?

The strap sits over the floor gear shift stick, and it sits to the side of the passenger foot well. Why?

Because you can get fined for having a phone sitting on the seat next to you now while driving. Even if it's just streaming music to the stereo.

This takes away any possibility of looking at a screen while driving.

I've enjoyed mixing and matching fabrics for these.

I even popped wipes and tissues into this one.

Four made. I think that's enough for now. *giggle*

A little bit of spice

So I found myself with all these little strange pieces of fabric left over from the baskets.

These little tissue packs/business card holders were so easy and fun to make.

What a great way to show off these super prints, and use up some bits at the same time!

I've given a lot away, sold a couple, and yet I feel that there will be more to come.

I  had these little Toy Story fabrics left from a quilt I made my nephew.

It feels good to use them up so they will be used and loved!

Which is your favourite?

My 5yo has already chosen his favourites, filled them with tissues and popped them in his bag.

I just love to create. What else can I say?

Graveyard shift

Oh! I had to create something from these glow in the dark graveyard fabrics... I've made a couple of little zippy bags, just because I could...

and I found a better wadding than pellon for bags. Similar loft, but a bit stiffer to hold the shape.
For my own reference, I bought it from Just Country Crafts, a local quilt supply shop.

It feels good to finish something, even if it's small, especially when I've been working on so many long term projects. And I am thinking that I need to finish Diamond Hill for the inlaws gift. Which will be 2 years late. Although they don't know about it, so I must trust in divine timing I guess!

Witchy women

I've had these Halloween fabrics hanging about for a while now.

They were calling to be made into something, so we have the baskets and a wallhanging that would be perfect for a backdrop for anyone doing live card readings, crystal sales, or live talks on Tik Tok or YouTube.

Maybe it will be sold, maybe I will keep it to hang up as a Halloween piece. They are very saucy witches mind you.

It's great to have a finished quilt, it's been a long time since I stitched down a binding.

Tickled!

I'm absolutely delighted with the way these little baskets turned out. I decided they could be for mini altars, or displays, or a mini space for positive intentions. I know that with children myself, it's hard to find a little area they don't get into.

These are about 10cm square on the base.

A mini sacred space.

I love that these fabrics are on display.

That is a really soft orange. I love ravens.

I've had fun with the styling.

Learning all the time.

What a cute set!

I can feel some more of these coming on. What a delight they were to make!

And now for something....

And now for something... completely different... (as the monty python boys say)...

Little spooky fabric baskets! The first one is a bit too floppy, so I went looking for some other stiffener, and I like it better.

Here are another two baskets. And you might be able to see my witchy snake bone necklace....

And a witchy quilt behind me....

I am on track to decorate for Halloween this year! *cackle*

These baskets are a bit addictive, I can tell there are more coming!
