I do believe I said...

Did you hear me say there would be more time to stitch? Well, feast your eyes, I've had a busy few days.

I call this one Our Lady of Guadalope. I went to her shrine in Mexico and asked her to make me a mother. It worked. 13 months later, despite being in full menopause, I had met a man, become an instant mother and became pregnant. I have plans to create a large applique collage of Our Lady in bright colours. Not sure when yet.

This Sun piece is exceptional. I love it so much, it sold straight away and is used for rune casting.

Ah, Alice, the deeper we go down the rabbit hole, the deeper we go.

And this stunning wolf goddess. So sparkly in her finished state.

A card pull

I really wanted to photograph this gorgeous piece before it went to its new owner. I hadn't even finished it and it sold. It's another one of those that I would love to get that fabric again!!

Just another way to use these altar cloths. Take them to a friend's house with a deck and bam. Instant sacred space.

I decided I needed to complete the superhero quilt for 10yo. He is the only one still using his oldest quilt with monsters on it. 

This one should carry him through for a while. I've made it quilt as you go, same as the other children's new bed quilts from earlier this year.

I got so busy this year with altar cloths that he hasn't had a lookin, and just humbly used his old one. Not that it's cold anyway. But he does take pride in a clean room. 

Hopefully time for a few more personal stitching projects before the end of the year.

New directions

Oh Tinkerbell! How gorgeous is this! Connecting to the inner child, but also connecting to wanderlust: the personal growth that comes from travel and exploration and experience! I've painted her wings so twinkly. She came up great, but I only bought one of these fabrics. So its first in, best dressed.

If you're into coffee and cats, this one is for you. Some people are buying these textile art pieces to hang behind them while they run online zooms, or classes or workshops, to show what they are all about, and act as conversation starters. That makes total sense to me.

I'm not sure if this is Maat or Bast, one is a cat, one is the lioness. I think this one has cat whiskers, so perhaps Bast. Egyptian Goddess.

I love everything Egyptian, so I definitely love this. It's the first one in a Egyptian series.

I get shivers

Ooh! I get shivers from this magickal money cat! It's so much more sparkly and beautiful in real life! I wish you could see how good it looks.

This crystal bee is a deadset favourite. I bought 5 fabric prints, but I can see I need to order another 5 already.

I will need to keep one for myself.

What an interesting card draw!!

Saraswati, goddess of music, knowledge and teaching.

Ahhh, maybe this is the vampire witch. She is wearing a red cloak, and there are bats in the background. Maybe there are more than one vampire in the series? That could be true as well.

I have two ladies collecting every witch in the set. They are really hitting a note!

I am preparing all the Hallowitches before Halloween. Will have more to show you soon.

 

Signs and the goddess

Ooh! This one is high energy! Some parts need to be stitched with a walking foot... most of my stitching these days is free motion.

This one is Aquarius - which is me, the water carrier, even though it's an air sign! I just figured out that me, the beloved and my son represent the 3 air signs. I think we are the most compatible signs for each other. Very interesting. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean it's all smooth sailing! 

Oh my goddess, this one is extraordinary. Look at the light! I think it's one of the star signs, what is that on the bracelet? Is she Virgo?

And this Aztec goddess which is a juxtapose of masculine/feminine.

These last two were very intensive, but rewarding pieces. What beautiful backdrops for card readings or a dedicated sacred space in the home.

These ones are for me

Ok, Ok, these ones are for me. No doubt about it. If you can see yellow/gold fabric, I have painted it so it twinkles and sparkles!

Oh the POWER in these! I am calling on goddess to help us find a place to live!

This one with the lion has so much work in it. I have fabric for one more, and I won't even order the fabric again, there is so much involved. It took a very long time to stitch, with many colour changes.

I never can tellw hich ones are going to pop in real life, or how they will stir emotions within.

All I can tell you is, I will order more Isis fabric, but I am keeping both of these for me.

Spirit Animals

Wrapping up the month, not sure when we move... this Leo constellation just twinkles. The lion is so powerful, I need this around me at this time I guess, because the altar cloth below also has a jungle animal!!

This artwork is so beautiful. I love stitching it, then highlighting all the gold especially with fabric paint.

This one sold to become textile art for the wall as well. I do find that interesting.

I am packing up all my personal sewing ready to move. We have started to dismantle the house frames, sort out what we want to keep, what to leave, what to throw away. Moving is such a big job, especially when you thought you would never leave. 

 

Running Like Water

I've finished another four new designs that have my heart aglow. Luckily I am buying my batting and threads in bulk now.

I am using a beautiful wool/cotton blend of batting by Matilda's Own and Signature threads. My Janome machine loves the Signature, I buy it in 3000yd reels. I now have about 15 colours, and will have space for more as soon as we have a house to live in.

The contrast between water and land, fire and air, night and day, sun and moon. Everything about this one is amazing. I have another 2 of these fabrics. I hope to order more of this one. It's incredible.

This flamingo goddess in a waterfall is all about beauty. I love her. She was bought my someone that loves flamingoes, it's a textile wall art piece - not an altar cloth for her.

I call this beach one "My Happy Place". If you can't get to the beach in 2020 with all that's going on, at least you can go there in your mind.

Oh my goodness, this cup runneth over, what a stunning artwork this was in the first place, and gave me a lot of pleasure to stitch and paint.

I wish I could get more of this cup one. We could all do with a cup of overflowing rainbows.

 

Goddess

Still looking for somewhere to live, we have to move as soon as we can. I am connecting with the goddess while I stitch.

This renaissance art is stunning in real life with sparkly gold fabric paint and stitched details. Perfect for calling on Mother Mary.

Likewise, calling on Lakshmi, goddess of beauty and prosperity. This seems to be the right time to stitch goddess pieces.

I am asking everyone I know, cap in hand. 

I don't want me and my family to be homeless.

 

Compassion, new beginnings, Wishes

So, we got the block of land... and I am stitching as fast as I can to pay for it! Also looking for a rental at the moment and visiting places to live.

I've been going to look, but given my history, it's not going to matter where I live. I just need somewhere for my family. So I am telling EVERYONE I know, and putting it out there that I am looking. Swallowing any pride (not sure why I had to do that), but putting myself out there to find a home for the family. Hopefully with room for the pets and a bedroom for each of the children.

Back to sewing, this one with the hare and dandelion talks to me of wishes. The hare has various meanings in the Goddess Wheel of The Year - some seasons are entirely represented by hare, so it's not just Easter to me.

It's kind of like new beginnings, and making wishes.

Quan Yin, goddess of compassion. Oh how she means a lot to me. I have a card deck connecting to Quan Yin, and I did a special workshop for 44 days with some other beautiful souls. We all did the practises on the same drawn card each day, with a lit candle, wearing Goddess oil and holding space for each other. It was very deep and transformative.

This one sparkles and shimmers. I know she will reach her happy home and destination.

This Universal Mother one - the Creator, oh how I love this one.. She really shimmers and sparkles with depth and meaning. I am sure these ones will be snapped up at the online market.

Winter stitchings and some wellness

Oh yes! This astrology/constellation theme has me under its spell.

This one could be Capricorn, Artemis or Diana.

She is sparkly silver and blue. She aims and reaches her target. What a great intention to have.

It's Winter here, so I've appliqued some details onto soft fluffy blankets. This one with the fae goddess, triple goddess charm, and butterfly background.

This one with appliqued mermaid and resin tail.

So fluffy!!

As for my Ross River Virus, I am so grateful, here I am smiling instead of sleeping in the day. I was crying at night instead of sleeping, and now I am awake and smiling.

I have been taking these plant based capsules for only a few days. On the second day my brain fog lifted, and by the third day I was able to drive. The swelling in my feet went down enough to get shoes on, drive, and take my kids to the park on the school holidays.

Where have these been all my life? Well, they come from the US. Not available in Australian shops, so that's why I had never heard of them before.

The beloved has experienced pain in his ankle where he broke his foot off 30 years ago. On the second day of taking these, he is moving his foot around and he says '" I can't feel my ankle".  I mean, I didn't even know it hurt bad - because he didn't say!! Men!

Well hello quality of life changer!!

 

Wishes, banishment, empowerment

 Who can resist a heartfelt gift of wishes from a 4yo? Not me, ever. My son gifted me wishes that he could have used for himself. 

He is growing so fast, I can't wait until he can have his own bedroom and a big boy bed! The house frame is almost joined on the ground, it's in place and almost ready to be lifted by a crane.

The premise remains the same, this is a banishment cloth, and if you look back here  you get the idea of how individual each altar cloth actually is. They all vary in their own way, because they are hand made. I handguide the embroidery/quilting.

Witch or Goddess

For this Witchy altar cloth, I've stitched a laser cut motif onto a quilted background covered in protective eyes, or all seeing eyes (what do you prefer?)

Then painted with sparkly fabric paints to add depth and dimension.

This goddess one blew me away when I'd finished it:

She could be Virgo, Goddess, Venus. You could use her for almost any goddess that you want to celebrate or call on.

She totally sparkles in silver and blue sparkly paint. I feel a few more constellations/star signs coming on. I will look at more fabric prints in this genre.

Mythical Places and Beings

Oh! This altar cloth reminds me of the Faraway Tree, I expect a bucket of dirty washing water to be swishing down the tree at any moment! It feels so magickal. I have 3 of these fabric prints, and I can tell it's one to order that I want to order another 5 when it's available again.

For now, I have plenty of variety to stitch up, including this fire goddess.

I loved painting red and gold sparkle onto this to make her really glow.

And this raven goddess, who seems to have a raven as her hair, one as a dress and one flying next to her. I have 3 each of these goddesses, I don't think they will last.
