Halloween dress up

We were invited to our first Halloween party, and will go trick or treating in the evening when it's cooler.

It gets so hot here that we have a very short window to dress up in and walk around. Must be careful that we are safe on the road in twilight as well. Halloween isn't all that celebrated in Australia.

I will be carrying treats to give out in my bucket.

I dressed as Malificient. I love these horns. Grateful that I can walk up and down a street after my journey earlier this year (I couldn't walk with the Ross River Virus).

Getting back to becoming the version of me that is active and loves life!

Halloween preparations

I really love this cat, looks like very old artwork, with little moths... a special antiquity, and the colour too.

This moth has me gasping... so blooming gorgoeus. Phases of the moon, moth, herbs, eyes, crystals. I have no more to say! I have stitched this one in pink.

This raven is in green, and painted with green sparkles.

I see Poison Ivy. What do you see?

Took my little fella out to a special cake shop today...

creating those memories that we loved as a kid! So special!!

Ooh  I saw this dress in a handmade shop. Too small, but it's gorrgeous. Hmm... I will look at some patterns.

Hmmm, found this, it might work. I will also take a look on Etsy for dress patterns.

Enjoy your Halloween preparations!

How I set up an altar cloth

Here you can see my intention grid set with crystals, and I have a range of Halloween kandles ready to burn, actually it's time to start.

I set an intention (goal), light the candles, have smudged the area, added whatever is meaningful for me at this particular time.

I set the painting behind... it's like my favourite poem: The Road Not Taken.

Everytime I take a photo the candles cast a different light.

This is how I set a sacred space.

Pretty darn happy with it all too.

Blessed Be.

You can find my altar cloths for sale on Etsy.

Mum life

There are so many details in this one, but I can't deny that I love stitching the feathers especially and the leaves. They just flow and glow. I think I've made about 5 of these, and will order more fabric.

This little cat with the moon and butterflies is a love. I might have put it here sideways. You choose.

I absolutely loved stitching this Ursula Sea Witch. She really glows. What a stuning artwork, and now that she's stitched, she really has dimension.

Sewing group day and I am making a bucket hat along with some of the other ladies.

Super heroes and red sheep. This should be right for 5yo for school next year. He doesn't have a uniform, so he gets to express himself any way he likes.

I've chosen some sea sort of colours as well, maybe for him, maybe for me.

I'm using these sewing Tula Pink fabrics for my hat.

Of course mine isn't finished yet. Lol.

Mum life!

And that's a wrap for the week

Oh my goodness, I am so in love with this butterfly crystal grid altar cloth!

Transformation and new beginnings abound.

What do you think of this Raven? I love him! I've already stitched two here in different colours. I have a few more, I feel they will be a one colour thread project.

First one pink.

Next one purple.

I chose multi colours for this Hocus Pocus one. So many occult symbols. Could be perfect for someone who wants to set an intention.

I snagged this red Breaking News fabric early in the year. It was released as a joke print, and wasn't reprinted because 2020 became, well more serious.

Another of these Libra balance altar cloths. I will order more of these.

The troll birthday cake

What a weekend for us to have the kindergarden bear home! We had to take some photos of what we did with him, and then 5yo had to speak to his class about what they'd done.

They sure do start public speaking young!

This huge esky had jellies, zooper doopers and the cake inside.

Here's the cake before it's final decorations.

The brief was a Spooky Trolls cake. I have no idea what it meant. Maybe something to do with that movie we saw recently, there was a rock n roll troll who wanted to take over the world.

So one side is sparkly and rainbows, and the other side has halloween bits and bones.

And that's a success!

After the party we played with his new birthday toys. And that's a birthday wrap for a year.
I need a rest, and to sew.

So many things cooking

Sneak peek at my sewing machine... this is going to be stunning!!

I did get this fairyland pink sparkly altar cloth completed. Oh! I wish I ordered more of this fabric! It's 2020 and deliveries are on and off, stop and go, it's all in the air.

I discovered the kmart air fryer is AMAZING at cooking chicken sticks for the children (balance them in all directions, and the marinade doesn't stick to the base, but all the flavour stays in the chicken!!).

A witch with her familiar.

And a whole lot of rainbows piped from butter icing onto baking paper, then frozen. Tomorrow onto the cake!!

Rainbow Whistle Cupcakes

I'm just following the client brief for rainbow cupcakes for kindergarden friends.

And then adding rainbow butter icing (oh I love my kitchenaid!!)...

5yo wanted to gift his friends "rainbow whistle cupcakes", and when I asked what that meant, it meant that he had little toys- some of them whistles - on the cupcakes.

I love that he wanted to gift toys to his friends on his cupcakes. So beautiful.

Next: birthday party to organise!

Aussie animals

Taking a break, we took Master 5 over to Magnetic Island by ferry to an animal sanctuary.

But I have to tell you, he wasn't as interested in the animals as I was!

This is a cheeky wombat being nursed by the guide.

This koala happened to be awake and came over for a pat.

5yo went on a bus and a ferry and enjoyed his birthday treat out and about.

Cup of gratitude

This is where I find myself at this time... drinking from the cup of gratitude... a happy little boy... dogs in a safe place....

Beautiful front yard view...

Made bikkies for the family, because I am off to a High Tea 50th birthday.

You guys eat this, I am off to eat petit fours.

Great excuse to dress up and the first time in 7 months I've been able to wear sandals. I usually wear very supportive shoes since Ross River Virus inflammation.

It's lovely to dress up, and go out.

I will be back to sewing soon enough!!!
