Altar cloths in my Etsy store

Now I can't remember whether I've shared these altar cloths for my archives.

Laser cut lettering stitched onto a pretty quilted background.

Wicked witch of the West with flying monkey (I've made a few of these).

Ganesha in a pretty light purple colour.

Earth Angel. Oh! Look at the way the world blooms!

Tree Spirit

Til Death Do Us Part

Spirit Animal week

What a week of stitching I've had! The theme for the online market this week was magick....

The Raven  is stitched with green thread and painted with green sparkly fabric paint.

The owl looks like he is staring right through me. Spirit animals are very popular, as everyone identifies with the traits of one or more animals.

This particular one with a cat looking on sold straight away which really surprised me. Cats are so popular.

The Witch with her familiar is so twinkly in real life. I truly love this one. If only the fabric suppliers would open up again!

This one with cats and bats... I've stitched the words "Magickal Me" i nthe witch and given her a skirt.

And this last one is a nature witch, once again with her familiar or pet cat.

Kitchen and Stitchen

I wonder if there is a ceiling on creative output in a day. I usually find that I can blog, or stitch or do some creative cooking (that is, looking up a recipe, trying something new or difficult).. but I don't tend to do all 3 on one day.

It's as though my creative passion is satisfied within for a time, and I feel like a rest afterwards.

Does anyone else relate to that?

I won this KitchenAid mixer. What an amazing belated birthday present. I am so blessed. This will be used and used and used.

I originally chose a lavender colour, but this lemon is stunning. I think of kitchens like a quilt pallette. I want mine to be black, white, blue, and lemon.  But I didn't want a "boring" white mixer when it's a statement piece in the kitchen.

Look: it came with free engraving. It says

Rainey
Kitchen Witch

I create in the kitchen and stitchen (sewing room) sending love and healing into my creations to the recipients.

I can feel the KitchenAid both taking away stitching time, and also freeing me up to have more time.
Ooh, this is so exciting. Meringue, here I come!

(Did I mention I only had a hand held mixer from kmart before that is marked with 7 speeds, but really had 1?) This is very significant!

On our way to Christmas decorating

A Witchling Owl

Oh my goodness! I loved stitching this one so much!!! I wish I could re-order the fabric! So many small businesses closed or couldn't ship during the year of 2020 with all of its challenges. I hope they come back.

I know it's early, but I've got the most space I've had in about 20 years to put up a Christmas tree. I laybyed one, and all the decorations, and we've picked it up. So it's up, and we are enjoying it!

I'm also wearing Christmas dresses and earrings every day until Christmas. I have 5 dresses made by a friend of mine who does it as her business. I love to support each other when I can. I took my precious pre-order fabrics to her, and she came up with 5 frocks. Christmas babyyyy....

Mum life

There are so many details in this one, but I can't deny that I love stitching the feathers especially and the leaves. They just flow and glow. I think I've made about 5 of these, and will order more fabric.

This little cat with the moon and butterflies is a love. I might have put it here sideways. You choose.

I absolutely loved stitching this Ursula Sea Witch. She really glows. What a stuning artwork, and now that she's stitched, she really has dimension.

Sewing group day and I am making a bucket hat along with some of the other ladies.

Super heroes and red sheep. This should be right for 5yo for school next year. He doesn't have a uniform, so he gets to express himself any way he likes.

I've chosen some sea sort of colours as well, maybe for him, maybe for me.

I'm using these sewing Tula Pink fabrics for my hat.

Of course mine isn't finished yet. Lol.

Mum life!

So many things cooking

Sneak peek at my sewing machine... this is going to be stunning!!

I did get this fairyland pink sparkly altar cloth completed. Oh! I wish I ordered more of this fabric! It's 2020 and deliveries are on and off, stop and go, it's all in the air.

I discovered the kmart air fryer is AMAZING at cooking chicken sticks for the children (balance them in all directions, and the marinade doesn't stick to the base, but all the flavour stays in the chicken!!).

A witch with her familiar.

And a whole lot of rainbows piped from butter icing onto baking paper, then frozen. Tomorrow onto the cake!!

Wham, a new batch.

Whoo eee! It felt like weeks, but was probably only days between stitching... Here are my new pieces for the week.

Maat - lioness goddess Egyptian deity.

Wicked Witch of the East (Wizard of Oz including flying monkey and the Emerald city in the background).

Angel guide

Pegasus.

Zombie witch.

I've spent so much time sewing, I can hardly type.

I can't explain how wonderful it really is to have space to spread out and display, and enjoy owning and using beautiful items.

I've been living in small spaces for too many years.

It's such a delight to create displays!

These are display ideas for the Winter Solstice altar cloth.

Which way do you prefer?

Spirit in all

I call this stunning lady "Crystal Light". Oh wowsers!

She really shines. What a great reminder to be the change you want to see in the world. Don't talk about it, be it, then you will see it, and others will too.

Moth wings, frangipani flowers, crystals, hummingbirds, tigerlily flowers. I see so many meanings and symbols. But the light is so needed in this year of 2020.

Following the popularity of Spirit Animals, I present the Eagle.

The eagle represents leadership and authority, and those who make this their spirit animal are born to be leaders and high achievers. They are visionaries who believe in the power of expanding their self-discoveries and striving to reach greater personal freedom.

And the green Hallowitch. I bought two of this fabric print, maybe I will need more. Her skin is green and sparkly, the power of the feminine is very clear here.

Moth and pomegranate feature on the final one today.
I love the colours, and wish I had ordered more of these prints. Pomegranate represents fecundity, bearing fruit, taking a project to fruition.

Moths represent transformation, hidden knowledge, inner wisdom, psychic abilities, and shadow work. They are connected to the moon, feminine and yin energies, and intuitive discoveries. They show up to help you discover your hidden desires and awaken to your true self.

I really like the skull within the moth, and while I am not drawn to moths particularly in person, I am drawn to them in artwork and representation. Is that strange?

I get shivers

Ooh! I get shivers from this magickal money cat! It's so much more sparkly and beautiful in real life! I wish you could see how good it looks.

This crystal bee is a deadset favourite. I bought 5 fabric prints, but I can see I need to order another 5 already.

I will need to keep one for myself.

What an interesting card draw!!

Saraswati, goddess of music, knowledge and teaching.

Ahhh, maybe this is the vampire witch. She is wearing a red cloak, and there are bats in the background. Maybe there are more than one vampire in the series? That could be true as well.

I have two ladies collecting every witch in the set. They are really hitting a note!

I am preparing all the Hallowitches before Halloween. Will have more to show you soon.

Magick

Ooh, so many colour changes, but I do love stitching people. Don't ask me to draw people with ease, or paint them, but I can stitch them with love and joy and ease!

Could there be an altar cloth that sums up divination and magick more than this one? Palm reading, allseeing eye, stars, reading bones, even a tooth, spirit animal, and plants. So magickal.

This one as Jesus, I love it. The contemplation of the heavens.

I think this one is a vampire witch. Maybe a zombie. Because that's a coffin behind her.  Is she creating zombies? Who knows? Both are sold, and they are being loved. Power of the witch!
