Little hexies

While the sewing machine has been packed away during the big wet (it's more than a metre up high now, I think it's almost the most precious thing I own), I've been hand stitching little hexagons with fabric leftover from my son's baby quilt.

You remember, the one I started before we knew he was a boy! I think his colour preferences are just coming to pop through. He never minded the floral quilt in his bed before, but he has recently found one in my stash that is more blue, and he has laid claim to that.
It's so beautiful to me that a 2 1/2 year old is proud to use something that his Mummy sewed.

I wonder what these little flowers will become.
