Easter Bunny Family Tree

Oh my goodness, how many years have I been working on this bunny quilt?

This is "The History of The Easter Bunny", and I haven't really shown too much of it, as I plan to release it as a pattern.

I love that you can digitally download patterns and get them to start straight away - when you're actually in the mood.

I need to learn some art software to translate my drawings into smooth lines and I think they need to be an SVG.

This all has to wait though, I have to move house, as my rental is being sold.... and that means I am actually packing up more than I am spreading out and creating.

Hold my needle, I might be a while. There's a housing crisis here in Townsville. Blanket shortage of affordable housing, and that means a lot of competition to get one.

Meet The Artist

Still sight seeing with Mum while she's up for a holiday.

She lives 3000 km away, so while we had the chance, why not do some sight seeing, and in this case, there was a chance for me to have some photos taken.

So... meet the artist!

Hello, if you're new to this blog, I have been blogging since 2008.

This blog is a record of my creative journey. You will see the prolifity vary depending on life occurrences, stepping stones etc.

I've been making quilts since 1997 when Mum paid for my first hand piecing class as a Christmas/Birthday present, which I loooved. And never looked back.

I owned a patchwork shop in Gisborne, Victoria. Sadly it closed when my (now ex) husband suddenly left, and it really was a two person operation owning and operating a business. For a while (2010, 2011, 2012) I didn't sew as much, I had lost my mojo.

Then I was living in a caravan, and didn't have access to my huge stash, nor did I have a lot of space to stitch. You will see mostly handwork for a while, and not many finished pieces. I worked on embroidered tablecloths, cross stitch, crochet and appliqued quilt blocks.

Then I started my own family, and hit full stride again.

We never know what's going to come up next for us, but I can tell you, that I will always be a crazy quilter, one way or another!

Hello, and welcome to my 15th year blogging.

Mum from Deep Creek Quilting

I know you've heard me talk about Mum (Deep Creek Quilting) a lot, because she professionally quilts my large pieces, and she custom quilted my Raven Quilt that won Best of Townsville Show last year.

Not much sewing going on here, as we spend quality family time together.

The heat and humidity were a big surprise for her. We venture out early, then stay in the air conditioning for just a few months each year.

We trade that for 9 months of absolutely stellar weather, the rest of the year.

Some people have snow days, we have hot and humid days. Potato, Potata.

The first post

I never really know what the last finish of the year will be....

but here we are, and it's 2023 already!

Last finish for 2022 was a Santa stitchery gift for my Mum.

This first photo for 2023, is one I'm making for my mother in law, in her colours.

A different Santa stitchery from the Red Brolly (Bronwyn Hayes) pattern of Santa's Cups.

This will be for Mother's Day, and I know it will also come out once a year.

I love to make little Christmas gifts, all year round.

Last finish before Christmas

This is indeed the last finish before Christmas, but I'm a bit late to send it to Mum.

I think it's going to be a Mother's Day gift now!

It's country colours, perfect for her decor.

The first real gingerbread house

The kiddo really enjoyed making his first ever gingerbread house.

I must buy a kit for him next year....

I need to make a gingerbread house quilt myself!
